Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to the family of South London. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss as well as her mom is English. She grew up in the south of a London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained a BA degree in acting. She was a part of various stages during her high time at school, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then, she's made guest appearances on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. The film's success has led her to be cast in Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside playing the character of Ollie. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi character on ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in both series 2 and 3. Madekwe was the main character in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport in ABC's drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode drama aired just 2 weeks at The CW and then it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was a regular on the drama series on ABC Revenge in two episodes. It was revealed in May 2013 that she would be leaving the series following an appearance in the very first series of the 3rd. In 2014 and 2016, she starred in the role of Tituba the television series Salem. From June to July 2012, the actress got married to her long-time partner actor Iddo Goldberg. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty along with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely active, took part in hockey in the winter and baseball during the summer months, which means that she grew up playing in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley was never a walker, she was a dancer, and at the age of two and a half she took up Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley became passionate about dance following this. Ashley participated in the top divisions of tap, jazz ballet, hip hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre and pointe, until she finished from high school. Ashley was awarded the top soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just a few.
